Last updated: August 2026. This explains what Darkpoint Kinetics collects when you use this site, and why — in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
At checkout: your name, email, phone number, and any delivery/collection notes you provide. If you sign up for product updates: just your email. If you message us on WhatsApp: whatever you choose to share there, handled the same as any WhatsApp conversation.
What we don't collect
We don't use tracking cookies or ad trackers. Your shopping cart is stored only in your own browser (via localStorage) — it never touches our servers until you actually check out, and it's never shared with anyone.
Why we collect it
Purely to fulfil your order: to process payment, ship your item, send an order confirmation, and contact you if there's an issue. Email addresses from the notify-me signup are used only to tell you about new product launches — nothing else.
Who it's shared with
Only the services needed to actually get you your order: PayFast (to process payment) and Pudo (to deliver it). We don't sell, rent, or otherwise share your information with anyone else.
How long we keep it
Order information is kept as long as reasonably needed for warranty, tax, and record-keeping purposes. Notify-me email addresses are kept until you ask to be removed.
Your rights
Under POPIA, you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email darkpointkinetics@gmail.com for any of this and we'll sort it out directly.
